Celebrating Safety Throughout Fortune Brands

We love to celebrate safety achievements, both big and small!
Recognizing the “big”…
In addition to spotlighting our major safety milestones, like the ones listed above, we are also proud of the recognition we’ve received for our safety programs and outcomes. Some of the most recent recognitions include:
- Cabinets’ Ferdinand, Indiana plant won a 2021 Governor’s Workplace Safety Award.
- Cabinets’ Liberty, North Carolina plant was recognized with a 2021 North Carolina Department of Labor award for safety.
- Fortune Brands won a 2021 International SOS Foundation Duty of Care award in the category of COVID-19 Agility & Response. We were recognized for our outstanding response to COVID-19 in protecting the health and wellbeing of our workforce.
- Since 2020, our Cabinets plant in Winnipeg has achieved a SAFE Work Certification by Made Safe, an industry-specific health and safety association in Manitoba, Canada. As a result of their participation in the program, the plant has saved roughly $56,000 in total on its worker’s compensation premiums.
…and the “all”!
In addition to highlighting major safety achievements and recognitions, we recognize individual departments, shifts and teams for reaching memorable safety milestones and for their important contributions to creating and maintaining a culture of safety at Fortune Brands. Groups have earned special gear and meals to celebrate their success, and their achievements are promoted organization wide through the Company’s Connect app. Often, teams earning safety awards give back to their local communities by turning their award into a financial donation.
