We are committed to reducing our carbon impact on the environment while continuing to manufacture our products, serve our customers and create value for all our stakeholders.
Early actions we have taken to reduce our energy use include upgrading our facility lighting and equipment to high-efficiency fluorescent and LED fixtures, installing motion sensors, and updating equipment to be more energy efficient. The energy savings from these physical improvements has also had a big impact on dollar savings, with some locations saving hundreds of thousands of dollars a year compared to their energy spend before the updates.
We are reviewing the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), evaluating our renewable energy opportunities and creating a carbon mitigation strategy. We look forward to sharing our progress and goals in this critical area.
We track how much energy our U.S. facilities use from electricity and natural gas, our raw CO2 emissions from energy used as well as our CO2 intensity from energy used. This data can be found in our 2020 ESG Report. With the help of our new, more robust EH&S management system, we intend to expand our environmental data collection to include our global operations.
