At Fortune Brands, we are committed to building a culture where differences are accepted and respected, where people listen to each other and feel valued. We invite you to read this June 2020 message from our CEO, Nicholas Fink, or view it on LinkedIn.
Our organization is focused on strong performance and growth, and our core values underscore the importance of inclusion to being successful. Not only do want to attract talented people who come from a variety of backgrounds, we want to create a culture where all associates feel respected, valued, and can fully contribute their unique perspectives and talents.
In 2019, women represented 39% of our total global workforce and minorities made up 32% of Fortune Brands’ U.S. workforce. We are taking multiple actions to increase representation and engagement of underrepresented workforce segments to better represent the diversity of our customers and the communities in which we live.
In 2020, Fortune Brands joined the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion for advancing diversity and inclusion in our workplace and communities. As a signatory of CEO Action, we commit to continue to cultivate workplaces that support open dialogue on complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about race, identity and belonging; implement unconscious bias training education to find and improve blind spots; and continue to create and share strategic plans with our board of directors to further progress in these areas.
An inclusive and diverse culture comes down to one thing: business success. With it comes the ability to better solve business challenges and excite our customers with new products that address their needs.
